What's a unique word you've adopted into your vocabulary, and why did it interest you?

One I have is funambulism, which means tightrope walking. The reason I wanted to remember it was because I was looking for one-word synonyms of nouns that are often used with more than one word, e.g. tightrope walking. It was easy to memorize because it started with fun.
