Why do so many Christians ignore what the OT and NT say about ity (i.e. in Leviticus and Romans)...?

Current theologists believe that in leviticus, where it says something along the lines of man shall not lay with man, that they were referring to a minor adult relationship not what we've come to know of as a gay couple so in many of their minds the bible doesn't touch on uality.
