I don't think the desire to be dominated comes from romance novels, but romance novels rather, reflect what women desire. Of course, it's rooted in biology. And society as well. Cultural beliefs, and taboos reflect in people's lives. People who live in rural areas are probably more likely to fantasize about animals, people in the army probably fantasize about uniforms. In the gay community, many black men like to be called n-r while they f-k a white man, an that's the only way they get off. Some women may fantasize about ist men, because we live in a misogynistic society ect, people's fantasizes reflect the cultures taboos. I think women are more likely to be biologically wired to be submissive because a submissive woman is more likely to get pregnant than a woman who gets off by tying a man up an whipping him. Everything that leads to survival, is ped on, because it survived.
