My Boyfriend thinks im leaving him! Hlp?

My boyfriend of seven months Thinks im going breakup with him just because i think we need a small break. The reason i think we need the break is because we haven't been getting along at all. We fight over stupid things and sometimes it gets pretty bad.So i thought a little break might do us some good. I tried talking to him but he just don't understand. So what can i do? Please Help!
