Non-Christians, what is your favourite Bible error?

When I read the RC's NJ Bible, I found many footnotes pointing out errors within the texts. Some are obvious, some need more theological expertise to grasp. But they seem to be honest about the inconsistencies. If you submit an answer the question it would help if you could explain why the theologians (who are amongst the smartest cookies on the planet) go to such lengths as to undermine their own Sacred Scripture. Or is this not what they're really trying to do? I was an anti-theist for 37 years, then a Protestant for 25 years, now a Roman Catholic working a Secular treatment centre that works with addicts. I don't try to take the Bible literally, or swallow it whole. I think that would be setting up a 'straw man' made of extremist minority words - a juvenile approach to argument.
